Veneers
Veneers
A veneer is a thin, custom-made ceramic covering that conceals the front and side surfaces of your tooth.
Veneers are most often custom made from ceramic materials and adhere to your natural teeth with bonding. Even though veneers are a thin covering, they are quite durable and will last for years.
All of our services are performed by a general dentist.
Are Veneers Right for Me?
While they are not suitable for every patient, veneers are a cosmetic alternative for a variety of dental conditions including:
- Diastemas – spaces between the teeth
- Broken, chipped or worn teeth
- Unsightly or crooked teeth
- Permanently stained or discoloured teeth
- Misshapen or non-symmetrical teeth
A thorough dental evaluation from your dentist will allow them to assess the general health and cosmetic appearance of your teeth to determine which option is best for you.

How Are Veneers Installed?
Step One
First, your dentist may choose the colour that will best match your natural teeth. The tooth enamel is prepared so the veneer will blend with surrounding teeth. Remaining enamel provides a surface to which the veneer is attached. After preparation, your dentist will take an impression which will be used to fabricate a model of your teeth. Finally temporary veneers made of composite are fabricated chairside, and are attached to your teeth to cover any prepared surfaces and to protect your teeth while the permanent veneers are being fabricated in a Dental Laboratory.
Step Two
On your second visit, your dentist fits the custom-made veneers onto the prepared teeth. The veneer is bonded to the front and side surfaces of your tooth. Once the veneer is placed, it is hardened in place using a harmless, high-intensity light for 30 seconds. Veneers can be custom shaded by a master ceramist before they are fitted in place, so your smile will be perfect!
